Nutritional support for children is rarely visible in our country. India ranks 102nd out of 117 countries in the Global Hunger Index 2019. SHAPE India works to provide healthy nutrition to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. We serve nutritious and sanctified high-quality food to Aanganwadi Centres and ensure no one is deprived of their right to eat healthy and nutritious food.

Goal
SHAPE India Supplementary Nutrition Food (SNF) Programme is to cater to the special needs of marginalized and needy groups. It aims at bringing tranquillity, social and economic development of children, women and Lactating mothers in the community.

Coverage
We are reaching to more than 75,000 beneficiaries (children, pregnant women and lactating mothers) every day.Aanganwadi centres are situated in Okhala(South East Delhi), Badarpur(South Delhi), Palam(South West Delhi), Dabari(South West Delhi)

Strategy
SHAPE India formed 27 Self Help Groups (SHG’s) in Delhi in order to provide hot and fresh food supplied directly to nearby Aanganwadi Kendra’s. Proper nutrition training along with necessary inputs and constant support is provided to each SHG member, which not only makes them self-sufficient to survive but also upgrade the lives of the beneficiaries present in the Aanganwadi Kendra’s. Weight Chart is also maintained to track the growth of each child.

Outcome
Since 2006, SHAPE India worked swiftly towards achieving its goal of providing healthy nutritious food to Children, Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers. Currently, we serve more than 75,000 beneficiaries in a single day. The programme also promotes gender equality and helps in reducing the caste prejudices present in our society. Children irrespective of their cast, race, and religion sit together and to enjoy a healthy and nutritious meal.
